Denver Health Medical Center in the heart of Downtown Denver, CO is recruiting for an Oral Surgeon to join our Oral Surgery Department as a clinician and core faculty member in our Oral Surgery Residency Program.  Since we opened our doors in 1860, Denver Health has had a reputation of providing for the growing needs of the community. From our start over 160 years ago, growth and expansion has morphed Denver Health into a leading safety net institution, community academic medical center, and patient home providing care to all patients regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is now a 555-bed Level I Trauma Center, and one of the largest safety net teaching hospitals in the United States. Additionally, the institution has grown to include The Denver Department of Public Health, the Denver Paramedics, and 10 primary care sites located across the Denver Metro area. All told, the Denver Health system provides more than 315 million dollars of uncompensated care every year, over one million ambulatory care encounters, 124,000 ER/Urgent Care visits, and 9,000 outpatient surgeries.

Denver Health is home to an impressive OMFS 4 year training program that has produced several leaders in our field. Currently, we are a four year program that selects 2 trainees per year. At the end of the program our trainees meet the core objectives of competency in the following clinical areas: oral and maxillofacial surgery, anesthesia, medicine, cardiology, pediatric medicine, emergency medicine, general surgery, neurosurgery, surgical intensive care, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery. Currently, we are interested in hiring an energetic, enthusiastic, talented surgeon to join our faculty and be involved in our clinical and residency education for future generations of oral surgeons.

In addition to residency responsibilities, attendings in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Denver Health will have the opportunity to practice full scope hospital-based surgery. Attendings will have an opportunity to develop a faculty practice in a brand new state of the art facility at our Outpatient Medical Center and will have responsibilities to cover resident clinics, and will be appointed a faculty rank at the University of Colorado commensurate with years of experience/achievement.

Ideal candidates are those who care deeply about providing care to a underrepresented patient population, resident education, service and want to join a program dedicated to creating an environment where residents can grow and thrive.

Candidates considered for the position must be Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and must be able to secure a Colorado State Dental and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery License prior to their appointments.
